-minute reporting from the nation, california and the bay area on election night. >>> lights are on. we're back up to west avenue. >> and livermore is now heavier. >> we don't mean to scare you on a saturday night, but yes, that's the sound of your morning drive. tonight we can tell you which bay area commuters have it worse than anyone else in the state of california. here's the story from contra costa. >> reporter: this is contra costa county traffic. on a regular weekday commute, it's the worst in the state. 32 minutes on average for most commuters. but for some, even longer. >> in terms of california, that's the longest. and there are also residents in contra costa county, more residents proportionally, commuting an hour or more to their jobs. >> reporter: joanne lynn compiled survey data and found what most of us already suspect. california traffic is bad. but not as bad as we may have thought. only the 10th worst in the nation. >> almost three quarters of us still tend to drive alone to our jobs. maybe 11% of us carpool. statewide, 5% are taking public transit of some sort. >>

going to be a little on the cool side, but seeing partly cloudy skies there. around northern california, if you're hitting the road tomorrow, gonna see some fog in the central valley, sacramento, fresno. plenty of sunshine out in yosemite, lake tahoe. here's a look at your forecast. over the next several days, sunday, monday, tuesday, going to be pretty much holding steady temperature-wise and once again staying dry. wednesday we will see at least moderate rain. we could see half an inch to two inches. thursday looks like we're going to get a brief dry break, probably our dryest day at the end of the workweek. friday and saturday we actually get an event more significant storm system that hits the bay area. so yes, the end of november looks likes it's going to be a pretty wet one for at least the last half of the workweek into next weekend. >> and stanford hosts ucla on friday, and it's going to rain? >> yes. looks like friday and saturday, we'll get a good amount of rain, a couple more inches friday and saturday too. >> they'll take it if they get to play. hey, kim's got today's sports

involving two police helicopters in southern california. this happened at the pasadena police department in altadena. the injuries are said to be minor. the victims are being evaluated at a hospital. it's believed they are all police department employees. >>> well, shortly after the coast guard called off its search for two workers missing after an oil platform fire, hired divers found a body near the sight. the fire that erupted sent an ominous black plume into the area. the fire broke out while workers were using a torch to cut an oil line. at least four workers were severely burned. >> something like this happens, it tears at everyone's heart. and, you know, it's just a horrible day. first and foremost, we've gotta take care of those involved. >> two men remain in critical season, while two others are in serious condition. >>> in an age where we seemingly have too much information, here comes a whole lot more. how your government is opening up the floodgates, for better or for worse. >>> and the photo that set the internet on fire today, a golden moment in the oval office.
